Joined the queue as advised and showed up to check in only to be told we would have to wait 9 days to just get temp tags with an appointment because of “staffing”. Wasted time and money renting a car to make the trip to have nothing done.

6 hour wait time. Horrible. Staffing terrible. What are we doing to solve this issue? Utilize joint forces? There is 9 stations with ONLY 1 staff member working.  Make it make sense. Sat here for 30 minutes waiting to visit the substation just to find it’s closed and a sign saying to visit the main station. You would think they would put the damn sign at the entrance to the roadway starting the queue. Now they want you to register with Motors. Pathetic.

Easily one of the least efficient, most poorly managed organizations in the DoD. Can’t make an appointment less than 2, sometimes 3 months out. Can’t jump in the que in person because they’ll just tell you to do it online. Can’t jump in the que online unless you happen to be one of the lucky 25 people who manage to type in their info faster than the other 150 people trying to que in. Zero F’s given by any of the military people working there. Civilians are a mixed bag. I had one of my plates either stolen (likely) or „lost“ (less likely) and I can’t get an appointment under the „lost/stolen plates“ option at all. What am I supposed to do? Ride dirty for weeks until I can get in? Rent a car that I won’t be reimbursed for? What a joke. Edit as of late 2025: I hear from some coworkers who have recently PCS’d here that their experience was greatly improved compared to the clown show that this used to be.

Just want to show my appreciation for the people working here and the service they do for the KMC community. We’ve always had a good experience and the people are helpful and kind as long as you are respectful (it’s not that hard, people). The queue system with the option to get in line before even arriving is a game changer and has saved us a lot of time.
